The Author Letter
Dear Friend,
I heard this small voice in the back of my head, pushing me to write a book. I ignored it for some time, but each day it became louder and insistent, everywhere I went it was there pushing me to write a book(s). I am a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and writing wasn’t one of the things on my bucket list, guess what? English was one of my worst subjects in high school. I could have traded any science subjects for any grammar and creative writing classes.
Anyway, one special morning I asked myself, “How do I really want to use the gift of life that this morning brings forth?’’ I took a notepad, ripped off a page, and wrote what seemed to be an inner dialogue.
I wrote, “write a book.’ Beneath it, as if to respond to an imaginary person, I wrote, “I am an accountant, and writing is not my area of expertise.” Then I heard this voice speak to me so clearly, saying “Writing a book is not a trade. It is a hobby so you can share with others something only you know best.’ I wrote, “Even if I want to write this book, where do I start, or where will the time come from?’’
This voice instantly responded, “You have written so many things in your life. What you need is only to believe in your ability to put words on paper. You are definitely a writer.” It was as if someone had been whispering directly into my ears; then suddenly, the voice vanished.
“Yeah right, I am a writer,” I wrote sarcastically, and I tossed the paper into the bin. The paper did not last very long in the bin. I have now written and self-published my first book: “Say I Can”- Be a Deliberate Co-Creator of Your Own Life.
In this book, I share with my readers the point in my life when I chose to curve my own life the way I wanted and embrace the true essence that resides in each one of us, to live my life on my own terms and bring joy every single day. This process did not happen overnight; it required changing my mindset, and taking focused action towards the life I was born to have, a life that is full of joy, love, freedom, health and abundance.
In this teaching memoir, I share how I took an inventory of my life experiences- good or bad- and deconstructed the genesis of why my life was colored with shades of struggle after struggle. This process required me to ask tough questions that only I could answer truthfully. The results of this analysis were both shocking and valuable in terms of helping me refocus my strategy towards achieving my heart’s desires. Every effort led me to small gains, and with consistent effort, I have transformed my life.
I share my story with my readers because of the convictions that someone will read this book and benefit from my story. With Say I Can, you will learn to do the following:
- Find your own inner guidance system.
- Accept your role as a Co-Creator of your life.
- Shape reality to your will.
- Discover the destiny you want for yourself.
- See that life is a noble gift.
- Understand how powerful a Co-Creator you are.
